OAEYC Professional Development Scholarship

The intent of the OAEYC Professional Development Scholarship (professional development fund– utilizing opportunities to continue education) is to support members’ attendance at conference to further develop their leadership skills. OAEYC will award annual scholarship(s) as funds allow. Priority will be give to AEYC conferences (NAEYC Conferences, Professional Development Institute, Midwest, or state AEYC conferences).

Applications for scholarships will be due on a rotating cycle in the last month prior to the quarter it is needed. December 30th is the deadline for scholarships requested in January – March, March 30th is the deadline for scholarships requested for April – June, June 30th is the deadline for scholarships requested July – September, and September 30th is the deadline for scholarships requested for October – December.

Qualifications to apply:

  • Current AEYC Member
  • Actively participates in AEYC and shows commitment
    OR
    Has taken on a new leadership role in AEYC

Applicant must submit:

  • Application form (PDF)
  • Letter of support from Mentor (a person who has great experience and the ability to lead future leaders into the field of early childhood)
  • A written plan to share the information gained at the conference

Scholarship Descriptions:

  • The scholarship amounts will be awarded according to the following member structure.

Members – monies equal to 50% of the registration fees
Board Members – monies equal to 75% of the registration fees
Executive Board Members - monies equal to 85% of the registration fees

  • Award money will be distributed after awardees execute their written plan of information gained at said conference. Failure to disseminate information as described in your written plan will exclude you from future awards offered by OAEYC.
